A tragic road accident has claimed the life of a seven-year-old girl and left her two siblings seriously injured at Adankwame in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, when an ‘okada’ rider reportedly knocked down three children who were standing by the roadside in front of the Adankwame Police Station.
The victims have been identified as Rasmiya Abdul Rahaman, aged 7, who died from the incident, Rasmid Abdul Rahaman, aged 7, and Musharraf Abdul Rahaman, aged 11.
The father of the children, Mr. Musah Yussif, who spoke to the media confirmed the death of his daughter Rasmiya Abdul Rahaman.
He continued that his two other children sustained various injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
According to residents who witnessed the incident, the children were standing by the roadside waiting to cross when the ‘okada’ rider lost control and ran over them.
The cause of the accident is yet to be officially determined by the police.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the family house in line with Islamic customs, pending police clearance for burial.
