President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pledged to peacefully handover power on 7th January 2025 to the President-elect in 2024 general polls.
The president declared that he will respect the tenancy of ECOWAS protocol and democracy on good governance.
“I respect the two-term limit for the exercise of the Presidential authority as stimulated in the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana”. Nana Addo said at the opening of the Kofi Annan Peace and Security Forum.
He affirmed that he will not make any modification to the country’s electoral laws ahead of the 2024 general elections.
