Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said that a major benefit of the government’s digitalisation push is the de-risking of the agriculture sector and building of systems that enable entry, growth and expansion.
According to Dr Bawumia, the government shall continue to address the major factors militating against the Ghanaian farmer’s desire to expand and compete on the global scene, namely the accurate gathering and storage of data, easier access to credit through the establishment of proper identity and location, and global reach through financial inclusion.
Dr Bawumia said these when he met with participants of the Agricultural Students Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp organised by the Agrihouse Foundation at the Jubilee House on Monday, 28 March 2022.
He also encouraged the students to always have a mindset of possibilities and reasonably resist any attempts to discourage them while trying to introduce anything new.
