Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has charged his constituents to help in its new project dubbed “Keep Nhyiaeso Clean and Green Project” in bringing back the Garden City of Kumasi.
Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Finance, has been honored as one of the best legislators, according to research analyzing overall performance in the constituency over the years.
The Nhyiaeso Constituency, as part of its measures to promote a healthy and clean environment, has launched a new project called “Keep Nhyiaeso Clean and Green Project” aimed at improving sanitation and creating a hygienic environment for residents within the area by planting one hundred thousand (100,000) trees and other plant species in the constituency.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, Dr. Stephen Amoah indicated that the initiative, as the name suggests, is aimed at ensuring proper waste management in the Nhyiaeso constituency for hygienic purposes.
“We want to build Nhyiaeso Constituency with collectivism and restore the Garden City status of Kumasi. I want to make Nhyiaeso a model constituency in Ghana,” he stated.
In addition to this project, the Nhyiaeso MP has purchased several tricycles which will be used by riders employed under the project to transport bin sacks with refuse to various dumping sites within the communities.
Litter bin rings and refuse sack holders will be placed at strategic locations in communities within the Nhyiaeso constituency to ensure proper waste disposal.
However, the Deputy Minister for Finance made a passionate appeal to the Ashanti Regional Minister, the New Patriotic Party in the Region, Chiefs in the Nhyiaeso constituency, opinion leaders, and all constituents to prioritize this initiative with the utmost support to make it successful and sustainable.
