Professor Charles Marfo, a distinguished lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), is advocating for reforms in the selection process of Electoral Commission officials.
He believes that the current practice of appointing EC officials by the president undermines public confidence in the electoral process.
“I wish we could change the way we select the Electoral Commission Chairpersons. I wish it were not the President who appoints the EC; I wish there was a committee that would be mandated to do that.” Prof Marfo asserted on Oyerepa breakfast Time.
