The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaso Constituency, Dr Stephen Amoah, popularly known as Stika has bemoaned the rate at which Ghanaians point fingers at politicians for being corrupt.
According to him the entire world and the people in it are corrupt.
Responding to CDD-GHANA’s latest Afrobarometer survey that ranks the office of the president and Parliamentarians as second and third most corrupt institutions respectively, the lawmaker has said it is high time people stopped pointing fingers at the aforementioned personalities as being corrupt.
“The whole country is corrupt. Every individual in the country is corrupt in one way or the other.
Corruption is everywhere, Judges, Police, and even Churches are involved in corruption. It has become a huge fight and for that matter, it wouldn’t take solely the government to fight it. We need to change our way of thinking. People should stop peddling lies against people. That is also a form of corruption.“ He stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Show Hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel.
Meanwhile, he has stated that the corruption fight has become more difficult because the wrong people are made to occupy certain positions just for monetary gains.
“You see where you are sitting, no matter my level of education, if you put me in your seat, I cannot perform because it is not my field. But we are in a society where people are made to do what they cannot do because somebody elsewhere pushing, will get his or her share. How can we fight corruption with this kind of attitude?” He questioned.
