The St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weija, of the Archdiocese of Accra has inaugurated its new Church Pastoral Council (CPC) members into office by Rev. Fr. Elvis Mensah, the Rector of the church.
Fr. Mensah charged the newly elected CPC members to work collaboratively with him to promote the greater glory of the Church.
He appealed to the church members to support the new CPC executives through prayers and financial assistance to build a better church.
Fr. Elvis Mensah also expressed gratitude to the outgoing CPC members for setting a good foundation for the new council to build upon.
Mrs Gladys Gandaa, the newly elected CPC chairperson of St Joseph the worker Catholic church, Weija assured the members that the new Council will do the best within the powers vested in them to drive growth and progress within the church.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Gandaa encouraged members to adopt a new attitude towards church activities, emphasizing the importance of active participation, time consciousness, and full engagement.
“My vision is to foster a spirit of love and service within our community,” she stated. “I aim to work collaboratively with our Rector, Fr. Elvis Mensah, leaders, and members to promote spiritual growth, outreach, and community development.”
Mrs. Gandaa appealed to members for their prayers, support, and active participation as they embark on this new journey together. She emphasized the need for collective effort to transform the church into a beacon of hope, love, and light in the community.
The CPC Chairperson assured members that the church’s doors are open to suggestions and ideas, acknowledging that “we can’t do it all” without the support of the congregation.
Mrs. Gandaa concluded by wishing members a prosperous new year and praying for God’s blessings, strength, good health, and peace of mind for the development of the church.
