Ghanaian businessman and politician, Mr Akwesi Addai Odike has revealed the cause of lawlessness and corruption in the country.
According to him, Ghana’s Supreme Court has been interfered with by politicians which has hindered the court from taking independent decisions.
According to the founder of the United Progressive Party (UPP), the Ghana police service, Supreme Court, the electoral commission and other government institutions lost their sovereignty to politicians in the year 1992.
“Supreme court is not independent. Our politicians have interfered in the legal ruling of the court. We have heaped power on our politicians, hence, they usher the court to act according to their selfish benefit. This interference started in 1992 during the implementation of the constitution. The police, EC, parliament and other government institutions have subsequently been affected”.
Odike made this assertion on Oyerepa Breakfast Time chaired by Akua Aseiduaa on Oyerepa TV.
