Mr Dennis Opoku Katakyie, the National President of the NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana (NABTAG) has warned the Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to forget his presidential ambition if the government fails to pay trainees’ 10 months arrears.
The Vice President is lacing his boot to secede his boss, President Akufo-Addo come 2024.
But speaking on Oyerepa FM’s ‘Ghana Tesen’ show, the President of the unpaid NABCo trainees sent a strong warning to the Dr. Bawaumia to make sure they (NABCo Trainees) are paid or forget about his presidential ambition.
“The Vice President Dr. Bawumia should make sure the government pays us or he should forget becoming president of the country.” Dennis Katakyie warned.
He revealed that he led the NABCo trainess to campaign for President Akufo-Addo in 2020 elections.
“I led the NABCo trainees to campaign for Akufo-Addo in 2020. We are part of the victory of the second term of the President Nana Akufo-Addo so he should know how to treat us.”
“On 15 November 2021, Dr. Bawumia and the Chief of staff, Frama Opare directed us to remain at post for permanent employment. At the end of the day, for the past 10 months haven’t you paid yourself Mr. Vice President?” Dennis quizzed.
The Angry NABCo president questioned the credibility of Vice President Bawunia who is seeking to become the next president.
“A Vice president who wants to become president and you treat the youth this way then where is your credibility”. He asked.
The NABCo president lamented that his members are aggrieved and will picket at the Independence Square on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
