The National Communications Awards 2021 edition powered by RAD Communications came off Saturday, December 11 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra.
This is the third time RAD Communications has organised such an event to honour excellence in broadcasting in the country while championing communication, organisational and national development.
This year’s event on the theme: “Transforming Ghana’s Economy through digitalization” saw Kumasi-based Oyerepa radio take home 3 major awards.
Radio station of the year – Oyerepa FM
Oyerepa FM, arguably the best radio station in Ghana, the most listening to radio and the station that get instant results competed with 8 other big stations like Citi, Adom, Peace, Joy, Angel, Pure, Power and Accra FM, on the “Radio station of the year” category but managed to beat them hands down to grab the ultimate.
Radio program of the year- Oyerepa Afutuo
Oyerepa Afutuo, an important social programme which is being aired on both Oyerepa radio and TV from Monday to Friday at 1 PM, chaired by Auntie Naa won the ultimate, Radio Programme of the year after smashing, Efie Kwanso -Adom, Ekosiisen- Asempa, Ekwanso Dwoodwo – Okay FM and 3 other programmes for the ultimate.
Radio Show Host of the Year- Auntie Naa
Eunice Naa Amerley Nortey popularly known as Auntie Naa, host of the most influential and authoritative radio show in Ghana, ‘Oyerepa Afutuo’ was crowned “Radio Show Host of the year” after vying Vim Lady – Peace FM among others.
Receiving the prestigious and historic awards, executives of Oyerepa expressed much gratitude to the organisers of the event and dedicated the award to Oyerepa FM cherished listers.
Oyerepa FM was established on 4th February 2018 and has, socially, economically and religiously impacted the lives of many Ghanaians via its indoor and outdoor shows.
