Residents of Oda Nkwanta in the Birim Central municipality of the Eastern Region are urgently seeking assistance from the government, NGOs, and cooperation agencies following a devastating heavy downpour yesterday afternoon.
The storm destroyed more than 20 homes leaving many people homeless and others severely injured by flying roofing sheets.
In an interview with Oyerepa News, the assembly member of Oda Nkwanta electoral area, Bismark Agyekum, and Unit Committee member, Patrick Kwabena Gyemah, highlighted the extensive damage caused by the rainstorm in the community.
They are urgently appealing to Member of Parliament, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the government, and other cooperating agencies to provide immediate assistance to the displaced residents.
Victims of the rainstorm disaster in Oda Nkwanta also shared their harrowing experiences emphasizing the urgent need for government intervention and support during this challenging time.
