Collins Owusu Amankwah, a former Member of Parliament for the Mahyia North Constituency, has criticized the incumbent, Akwasi Konadu, as an amateur politician who lacks competence in his role.
During the NPP parliamentary primaries in 2020, Collins Amankwah narrowly lost his seat to Akwasi Konadu, who currently holds the position. However, Collins is now challenging Konadu once again in the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries.
During an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast time, hosted by Kwesi Parker Wilson, Collins expressed his firm belief that the incumbent MP’s performance falls short and should not be reelected.
He emphasized the need to vote Konadu out due to his subpar work.
Collins further explained that his decision to contest Konadu was driven by his desire to continue the developmental projects he had initiated during his previous tenure.
“If Akwasi was performing, I wouldn’t have gotten space to operate; to the extent of even picking nomination forms to contest him…. He is incompetent and an amateur politician.
Collins Amankwah emphasized that his decision to run for office again was greatly influenced by the constituents of Manhyia North. Wherever he went, he was met with an overwhelming number of people urging him to make a comeback. This widespread support from the community played a significant role in his choice to seek re-election.
“Wherever I went people were craving for my comeback in the Manhyia North. This is because during my time they experienced a lot of development, talking about education infrastructure, road infrastructure, proper security, facilitation of job opportunities and many others. I was so connected to the extent that, they felt the impact.” He disclosed.
