Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman Robert Yaw Amankwah has formally announced his support for Kenedy Agyepong’s presidential bid.
Kenedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, has stated his intention to run for the NPP’s flagbearership.
Remember that key contenders such as Bawumia and Alan Kyeremateng have all received similar endorsements from within the party.
However, the former NPP chairman under ex-President Agyekum Kufuor thinks that Kenedy is the best candidate to run the party, and thus supports him.
Speaking to Joseph Marfo in an exclusive interview, Chairman Amankwah declared that, he is going to support Kenedy Agyapong to win the NPP flagbearership.
“Officially, I’m part of Kenedy Agyapong’s team. A lot of people have seen Kenedy and me together in recent times. So today, I’m making it public that, I’m a part of Kenedy’s team.”
“If I look at the good policies Kenedy is going to bring on board, I think I need to rally behind him to become the flagbearer of NPP or President of Ghana.”
He revealed that he and Kenedy Agyapong have travelled to various parts of the country so far, and the response has been overwhelming. Many Ghanaians have accepted Kenedy’s mission and are prepared to vote for him in 2024 if he is chosen as the NPP’s flagbearer.
Chairman Amankwah indicated that many NPP, NDC, and non-partisan Ghanaians who have lost all hope in casting a ballot will vote for Kenedy if he is elected flagbearer.
