Ghanaian politician and former member of the Sixth Parliament of Ashanti Mampong and flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Francis Addai Nimoh has disclosed that the party needs a new face to retain power in 2024.
According to the flagbearer hopeful, the party at this time needs someone with different ideologies to help break the eight record.
In an exclusive interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, the NPP flagbearer Hopeful explained why there is a need to get a new face in breaking the eight.
“There is no party in Ghana here who has gone beyond eight years in governance. History tells it all that breaking the eight-year has become difficult for old faces that have been in government,” he said.
However, he opined that it is the sole aim of the NPP party to break the eight and it is possible to do if there is a new face as the presidential candidate for the party. He believes the new faces will bring about new ideologies, fresh appeal and new excitement in the country and the party.
“NPP needs the new face who is a natural unifier, who is easily accessible and must be without blemishes…”, he added
He noted that physical and mental capacity is yet another key factor required of anyone who wishes to lead as the flagbearer of the NPP.
He further revealed that if the party wants to set a record this time, the NPP needs a new face to lead and that is himself (Addai Nimoh).
