The New Patriotic Party (NPP) recently offered its heartfelt congratulations to the parliamentary candidates who were elected in the recent elections.
National Chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim in a statement called on party members to foster unity among themselves to enable the party make history in the upcoming December 7 general election by securing victory.
The ruling party conducted its parliamentary primaries on January 27, aiming to select its candidates for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
The primaries were highly competitive and brought about a number of surprises, resulting in the defeat of several incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs) who were seeking re-election.
A total of 28 incumbent MPs were unable to secure nominations for the 2024 election, which signifies a significant change in parliamentary representation within the NPP.
The election took place on January 27, 2024, in constituencies where the party currently has sitting Members of Parliament.
Prior to this, the party had conducted polls on December 2, 2023, to choose parliamentary candidates for its orphan constituencies in preparation for the 2024 elections.
