Safo Newman, the Ghanaian music sensation, has addressed rumours regarding declining calls from Amerado and Fameye to collaborate on a remix of his viral song, Akokoa.
Safo gained fame with his hit track, Akokoa, which received praise from top stars like Sarkodie and Tulenkey. Sarkodie hailed him as a true talent, while Tulenkey called him an anomaly and encouraged him to continue his success. The song, released late last year, has garnered over two million streams on Audiomack, making it a prime candidate for a remix.
Rurumours erupted weeks ago that, Amerado and Fameye, approached Safo Newman for a remix of Akokoa.
However, in a recent interview, Safo Newman clarified that neither Amerado nor Fameye had contacted him for a collaboration.
Safo Newman expressed his confusion over reports claiming he rejected a feature request from Amerado and Fameye.
He explained that he had spoken with Amerado in the past, and Amerado had mentioned that a remix of Akokoa was unnecessary as the song was already perfect.
“Some time ago I met Amerado, we sat behind the same table. He said a remix of Akokoa would add new life to the song but the song is as perfect a song. It ticks all the boxes and sends a good message across. A remix won’t make musical sense ….” SafoNewman revealed.
Reacting to Dancehall musician Shatta Wale’s criticisms about his brand describing him as poverty-stricken, the Akokoa crooner said he’s not considering changing his style.
He is an introvert and will keep doing his music for people who can relate to it.
He argued that his personality wouldn’t allow him to satisfy the expectations of everyone and would continue to stick to his brand.
