Nana Obiri Boahen, the former Deputy General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has surprisingly praised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party that genuinely cares for its people.
Despite acknowledging the NDC’s shortcomings, Boahen believes the party demonstrates a commitment to its supporters and the broader community
“As I always come here to represent the NPP, if I was in the NDC they would have catered for my Airfare, my accommodation, and fuel, among others. The NDC regardless of their bad aspect care about their people.
That cannot be said about the NPP. When one old man gets the opportunity, he selfishly shields it for others to benefit. They are selfish people. In 2014 when Ghana went to the World Cup, I told Yaw Boateng Gyan that I wanted to go. He told me to come and see if I could go. The NDC man was willing to help me,” he said
In 2022 when we were going to the World Cup and as Deputy General Secretary of the political party they told me that the list is full even though the NPP was in power, an indication that the NPP doesn’t care about its people. But the NDC cares for their people, and that is why the political party keeps growing,” he said on Wontumi Radio.
