Stephen Atubiga, leader of the National Liberation Congress (NLC), has publicly endorsed Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate, dismissing claims of arrogance.
During a press conference, Atubiga confidently asserted that NAPO is the only candidate capable of defeating the Alan Afafranto Movement for Change in the Ashanti region in the 2024 elections.
Atubiga, a former presidential aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), emphasised that everyone possesses some arrogance, pride, and anger, and cautioned against judging NAPO solely on these traits.
He made a bold prediction, stating that while Dr Bawumia already has 30% support from the Northern region, NAPO will bring a massive 60% to the table, securing a landslide victory for the NPP.
The NPP officially unveiled NAPO as Bawumia’s running mate on July 9 at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, following a unanimous endorsement by the NPP’s National Executive Council. With Atubiga’s endorsement, the NAPO-Bawumia ticket is gaining momentum and is poised to make a significant impact in the Ashanti region.
This endorsement marks a significant development in the political landscape, as Atubiga’s influence and support could potentially sway voters in the Ashanti region.
The NAPO-Bawumia ticket is gaining traction, and their campaign is expected to be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming elections.
