Oyerepa Breakfast Show on Thursday, May 28, 2020, deliberated on the need/ not for a New Voter Register, of which the two major political parties were represented by Mr. Kwaku Frimpong, NPP Commander, while NDC Activist, Mr. Gabriel Agah, gave equal representation.
Speaking on issues surrounding the Inter-Party Advisory Committee’s (IPAC) meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, of which the NDC boycotted, Mr. Kwaku Frimpong said that John Boadu told Ghanaians what happened at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (I. P. A. C.)
meeting and he sees nothing wrong with that.
He reiterated the Electoral Commission’s (EC’s) stance that a new voter register would be compiled saying, “They know the precautionary measures they have also put in place and would work assiduously to ensure the exercise is carried out.”
The NPP Commander again supported the EC’s voter register is not credible and that the body which compiled the register identifying a problem with it has the right and mandate to compile and come up with a new one.
Mr. Frimpong stated, “I will conform to the protocols of the EC to register, even if I will contract COVID-19 after.”
Contrary to the NPP Commander, Mr. Gabriel Agah opined that the President of the Republic wants to devise every means to be declared as the President after the 2020 elections, saying, “Come what may, Prez Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo would retire after the upcoming elections.”
He cited the EC registering many people in the Ashanti Region, compared to other regions, during the Ghana Card exercise is one of their ploys to rig the 2020 General Elections for the New Patriotic Party (N. P. P.)
“It will be difficult for the NPP to rig the election. It is not the NDC which is beating war drums… Things should be made fair because we won’t stay idle for them to rig the elections, ” the NDC Activist told Nana Jantuah.
The NDC activist quizzed the resources which has gone into the Planting for Food and Jobs Programme and that the tonnage of Cocoa has even gone down, describing the NPP’s rants as a lip service, juxtaposing with the resources former Prez Mahama pumped into the Private sector.
“We will show the NPP Ghana is not for them… The EC should try starting the compilation in Kumasi and see the outcome. We won’t agree to the thievery of the National Identification Authority (NIA) and EC, ” Mr. Agah emphasized.
He stated, “We will ‘cut off’ former Prez Mahama’s head should he remain silent for the 2020 elections to be rigged.”
