A group of individuals dressed in military and police uniforms reportedly raided the residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta on Tuesday afternoon in Cantonments.
Reports indicate that Ofori-Atta is currently in the United States receiving medical treatment. However, his wife and other relatives were present during the raid.
Eyewitnesses claim that about 12 individuals were involved—five in military uniforms, one in a police uniform, and the rest in plain clothes.
Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, former government spokesperson for Administration and Security, confirmed the incident in a post on X, stating that his inquiries had verified the raid.
Condemning the act, he stressed that former government appointees had served the nation in good faith and questioned the authority behind such actions.
“Must we be scared and worried that after serving diligently the people of Ghana, one is not safe even in their home and country of birth?” he asked.
“I hope and pray that the media, civil society organizations, the diplomatic community, and ECOWAS are watching Ghana,” he added.
