In a lively exchange on the first day of the 9th parliament, Minority Leader Alexander Kwabena Afenyo Markin took a jab at the NDC majority caucus, pointing out the noticeable absence of 61 MPs from their seats.
According to him, it is not a good start for about 61 MPs from the NDC caucus to be absent from the chamber.
“Mr. Speaker, look behind me, this is a strong minority, we are solid. You have sixty-one not here, look at all the seats, empty, here, all over,” he teased the majority.
Meanwhile, the deputy majority leader, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, indicated to the leader of the NPP opposition caucus that, despite the absence of the sixty-one members in the chamber, they still have quorum to conduct business and make decisions.
