The Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edem Agbana, has indicated that Johnson Asiedu Nketia will never apologize over the alleged leaked audio.
Few days to the NDC’s election, there was a leaked audio that captured General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia discussing how the party was ill-prepared towards the 2020 election petition filed by John Dramani Mahama, the former president and losing candidate in that election.
In the audio, General Mosquito disclosed that the NDC’s IT system crashed during the results collation process, and so they went to court without their own independent figures, and also their lawyers had pointed out that they had a bad case that was not worth pursuing.
A number of political analysts have explained that the said audio will affect Asiedu Nketia’s chance of winning the party’s national chairmanship. Others also believe that it would be proper for the former general secretary to apologize to the NDC party.
Speaking with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Edem Abgana stated that the General Secretary will not apologize and that the audio contains no false information.
“What is top secret in the audio that is not known to the public? Asiedu Nketia said in court that he has no result to show but is there to contest the result as declared by the EC. So what is the secret about this?”
He believes that the audio will not affect Asiedu Nketia in any way but rather boost the morale of NDC members.
“In fact, if that audio has done anything, it has rather come to boost the morale of the NDC people to believe that General is someone who, even when things were so terrible, sacrificed himself and went forward to go and testify; because of the NDC.
“The General should apologize for what?” for speaking the truth? What should General be sorry for: telling the truth? It’s common knowledge, and General Mosquito will not apologize for speaking the truth,” he said.
