President John Dramani Mahama, Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has called on newly commissioned military officers to embrace their roles with a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism.
Speaking at the commissioning parade held at the Ghana Military Academy on Friday, April 11, President Mahama emphasized the vital contribution of the Armed Forces to Ghana’s peace and national stability.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. You are no longer officer cadets—you are now the future of the Ghana Armed Forces,” he said, addressing the graduating class.
He reminded the officers that true leadership is not defined by rank or privilege, but by service and accountability. “Leadership is about responsibility and service. I urge you to lead with integrity, courage, and compassion,” the President added.
President Mahama also highlighted the nation’s high expectations of the newly commissioned officers and urged them to remain dedicated to their duty and the service of the nation.
The ceremony was marked by colorful military displays and time-honored traditions, symbolizing the cadets’ successful completion of their training and formal induction as commissioned officers. The event was attended by senior military officials, government dignitaries, members of the diplomatic community, and proud family members.
