Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, a Professor of Guidance and Counselling at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has appealed to the Nana Addo-led government to consider implementing a national policy on guidance and counseling.
According to him, guidance and counseling is a tool that helps shape one’s life for a better tomorrow, particularly for young people.
He made this appeal at his maiden inaugural lecture dubbed, “Through The Changing Scenes of Life: Finding A Fit In The World of Work.” at UCC’s School of Medical Sciences (SMS) auditorium.
The soft-spoken professor, in an interview with Media, highlighted the importance of guidance and counseling in the growth of Ghanaian youth.
He called on the government to take a critical look at their development to better shape the future generation as he appealed to parents to allow their children to have a say in their career choices by guiding and counseling them.
The well-attended ceremony saw reputable individuals like Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister of Energy , the Oguaamanhen, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II.
