The Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP Christina Tetteh Yohuno, has praised President John Dramani Mahama’s government for its unwavering support to the Ghana Police Service, stating that under his administration, the police have moved from mere rhetoric to reality.
Speaking at the handing over of 100 pickup vehicles to the police administration at the police headquarters in Accra, COP Yohuno expressed the police management board’s, officers, and men’s profound gratitude to President Mahama for personally commissioning the vehicles for police operations across the country.
“Mr. President, for your unwavering support. History will recall that under your administration, the police have moved from mere rhetoric to reality,” she said.
COP Yohuno highlighted the significance of the vehicles, stating that they represent more than logistics, but reach, response, and reassurance to the people of Ghana.
The vehicles will enhance patrol capabilities, improve rapid response times, strengthen rural and highway policing, and deepen police presence in underserved communities.
He assured President Mahama of the police’s loyalty, commitment, and readiness to deliver on their constitutional mandate, protecting the asset, deploying it wisely, and using it relentlessly in the service of peace, safety, and national stability.
