Gospel singer Mabel Okyere has revealed that she felt no disappointment after missing out on the ‘Gospel Song of the Year’ award at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
According to her, Nacee’s Aseda, which won the category, was well-deserving, surpassing her hit song Anuonyam (Aha Ye Kwan Ho).
Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye, she expressed gratitude for the nomination, emphasizing that many great gospel songs were released within the year under review.
“When I released the song in 2023 that particular year a lot of songs were also released so to get a nomination it means God has really glorified Himself.
“I wasn’t hurt that I couldn’t go home with the award because the testimonies alone I’m getting from what the song is doing in the lives of others are more than an award,” she posited.
