Former Member of Parliament for Suame and ex-Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has strongly criticized President John Mahama for allegedly using the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team to intimidate former government officials.
According to Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Ghanaians did not vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to engage in what he describes as unlawful pursuits against individuals.
His comments follow reports that a group of individuals in military uniform raided the home of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time with host Kwesi Parker Wilson, the former lawmaker expressed his belief that the ORAL team was responsible for the raid.
He condemned the incident, stating that it reflects a pattern of intimidation by the NDC government under President Mahama.
However, he cautioned against such actions, emphasizing, “..I think that we should look at things that are happening now. This is not what Ghanaians voted for. President Mahama said he’s coming to reset the country, so on and so forth but I’m not sure this is why Ghanaians voted for him.”
When asked whether he feared the ORAL team, Kyei Mensah-Bonsu responded, “I am clean and have nothing to fear.”
