Ghanaian actor and media personality Kwame Dzokoto is dead

Ghanaian actor and media personality Seth Kwame Dzokoto has reportedly died after collapsing during a live radio discussion in Tarkwa.

Dzokoto, who appeared as a panellist on Owass FM’s morning show in the early hours of Thursday, October 22, 2026, was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The circumstances surrounding his reported death have drawn attention to the veteran entertainer, whose career spanned acting, broadcasting and politics.

Dzokoto became a household name through his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the long-running television series Efiewura, where his comic delivery and distinctive character earned him widespread recognition.

He also featured in other television productions, including Osumesi, while building a career in radio and television broadcasting. His work in the media earned him a loyal audience and established him as a familiar personality in Ghana’s entertainment industry.

Beyond showbiz, Dzokoto ventured into politics and contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2016 general elections.

In September 2026, the actor addressed rumours about his health following public concern over his appearance at an event. He disclosed that he had experienced health challenges, including high blood pressure and diabetes, and had undergone surgery abroad with financial assistance from businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

At the time, Dzokoto spoke publicly about his recovery and dismissed reports circulating about his death.

Verification note: I could not independently confirm the reported death or find an official statement from his family, Owass FM or the police confirming the incident. The circumstances surrounding his alleged collapse and death should therefore be verified before publication.
