The Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) has elected Dr. Daniel Augustus Lartey Jnr as its flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Lartey Jnr expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, citing its “domestication philosophy” and grassroots-focused campaign messages as key factors in its potential victory.
He pledged to prioritize agriculture and technology to build a stronger, more prosperous Ghana. Recognizing agriculture as the backbone of the economy, he promised to usher in a new era of reform, focusing on domestication and empowering households to grow, eat, and sell their produce.
Dr. Lartey Jnr vowed to provide farmers with the necessary tools, resources, and credit access while promoting sustainable practices that protect the environment and ensure food security for future generations.
In addition to his agriculture and technology promises, Dr. Lartey Jnr committed to investing in digital infrastructure to connect every corner of Ghana.
He aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure equal access to technology for all Ghanaians, regardless of geographical location. By expanding digital infrastructure, Dr. Lartey seeks to empower rural communities, foster economic growth, and enhance overall quality of life.
Citizen Ato Dadzie, General Secretary of the GCPP, emphasized the need for a united third force in the 2024 elections. He expressed frustration with the current duopoly and urged smaller political parties to come together, responding to Ghanaians’ calls for a stronger alternative.
Dadzie stressed that a united front is crucial, as a divided third force cannot effectively challenge the status quo. He encouraged smaller parties to put aside their differences and work together to provide a viable option for voters seeking change.
