The Founder and Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Ayariga, has officially announced Reverend Dr. Samuel Mensah Worlanyo as his running mate for the 2024 general election.

Dr. Ayariga explained that he chose Rev. Dr. Mensah due to his unique blend of expertise as a lecturer and banker, which will be instrumental in managing the party’s finances and addressing Ghana’s economic challenges. He emphasized that Rev. Dr. Mensah will help the APC develop better policies than the ruling NPP and opposition NDC.

In his address, Dr. Ayariga highlighted the alarming trend of Ghana’s youth, who are the future leaders, succumbing to gambling. He expressed concern that the government and opposition parties are endorsing this dangerous habit, which is becoming a serious addiction.

The lack of opportunities and vision for the youth is driving them to gamble, with many using their school fees to bet daily. This has led to a decline in concentration and academic performance, putting the country’s future at risk.

Dr. Ayariga warned that the crisis is so severe that Ghana may lose future doctors, engineers, professors, and lawyers to gambling. He noted that even working professionals are now gambling, indicating a widespread problem.

In his acceptance speech, Reverend Dr. Samuel Mensah Warlanyo emphasized that Dr. Hassan Ayariga is a leader who shares his passion for social justice, economic development, and national unity. He stated that together, they will form a formidable force to bring real change to Ghana.

“With humility and purpose, I have set aside my presidential aspirations to join forces with Dr. Ayariga, who embodies the qualities necessary to build a brighter future,” he said. “His unique blend of expertise, passion, inclusivity, and unifying force makes him the ideal leader to bridge the gap and bring hope to our nation.”

Reverend Dr. Warlanyo used the occasion to invite fellow independent candidates and leaders of smaller political parties to consider the greater good and join the APC alliance.

“We need a new approach, a fresh perspective, and a united front to address the challenges facing our nation. Our alliance represents a third force that will shape the foundations of our political landscape. Together, we will work tirelessly to address the present challenges and unlock the full potential of our fellow Ghanaians.”

He highlighted Dr. Ayariga’s leadership qualities, including visionary thinking, unwavering integrity, collaborative spirit, inclusive approach, and a proven track record of success.
