The Awutu Ofaakor District Court has remanded the suspect, Akwesi Lartey Junior, who mistakenly shot one person at Awutu Bereku on Tuesday.
This was when he appeared before the court presided over by her ladyship Linda Amissah on Thursday following his arrest on Wednesday.
The suspect is to reappear before the court on 13th September 2024.
After the court proceedings, the victim’s relative, Nana Yaw Asamoah questioned why the Awutu Senya East National Democratic Congress (NDC) will politicise the incident.
The NDC led by the parliamentary candidate, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor before the suspect’s arrest, besieged the Kasoa Divisional Police Command, demanding justice.
They claimed the victim, Ato Odoom was an NDC member while the suspect was a bodyguard for the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mavis Hawa Koomson.
However, Mr Asamoah has stated Ato, who is his uncle, is not affiliated to any political party neither is he a resident in Kasoa.
He has therefore warned Naa Koryoo to stay away from this and stop politicising the unfortunate incident.
Nana Asamoah said the family will hold Naa Koryoo responsible if something happens to their brother.
