Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has said, work will begin on the much talked about Suame interchange in October, this year.
Parliament has approved US$ 16.2M contract for the Suame interchange project in the Greater Kumasi City.
The project after completion will ease traffic congestion in the Metropolis.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, the majority leader in Ghana’s Parliament who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency said, work on the project will begin in October.
“I believe by the close of October, President Akufo-Addo and Road Minister will cut sod for the commencement of the Suame interchange.” He stated.
According to him, the project will be done in two phases therefore phase 1 is expected to begin by the latter part of October.
“I’m not the Road Minister so I can’t give details on when exactly it will start but I believe by the ending part of October this year, the first phase of the Suame interchange project will start.
The interchange will be in multiple tiers so two of the tiers will be done in the first phase whilst 3&4 will be done in the second phase.”
