Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Francis Addai -Nimoh has said, President Nana Akufo-Addo should humbly apologise to Ghanaians concerning his failed promises.
According to him, Akufo-Addo is trying his best but there are some promises made before gaining power and some of them have not been fulfilled due to some circumstances now so there’s a need to apologize.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, the NPP flagbearer hopeful mentioned that, Akufo-Addo promised the Agenda 111 project and many others which he believes cannot be achieved the due state of the country’s economy.
That notwithstanding, there is a high cost of living in Ghana; Ghanaians are suffering which he expects the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia-led government to resolve.
Citing a similar instance of former president Kuffuor, he said President J. A Kuffuor apologized to Ghanaians when his government was in crisis so there will be no shame for President Akufo-Addo to also come out and follow suit if he thinks his promises made to Ghanaians can not be fulfilled.
“I think the President can come out and sincerely apologize to Ghanaians on his promises if he thinks they’re not achievable and I know Ghanaians will forgive him “ he noted.
He further revealed that the time left for NPP is limited but he is of a strong conviction that the President can still do something about the economy with the two and half years left.
He, therefore, called on the government to take urgent measures in ensuring that the high cost of living among Ghanaians is brought down as it is a major factor in breaking the eight agenda.
