The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has extended warm congratulations to Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on her groundbreaking election as Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. This milestone makes her the first woman to hold this esteemed office.
In a congratulatory letter dated December 30, 2024, CDD-Ghana acknowledged Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s remarkable achievements, including her tenure as Minister for Education from 2013 to 2017. Notably, she served on the Governing Board of CDD-Ghana from its inception in 1998 until her ministerial appointment in 2013.
CDD-Ghana expressed optimism that, as Vice President, Professor Opoku-Agyemang will continue to champion critical issues aligned with the organization’s mission and vital to Ghana’s national development, including transparent development and accountable governance, integrity in public life, and inclusive social and economic development.
The Center wished Professor Opoku-Agyemang good health and success in her new role, as she serves the nation.
