Asante Kotoko held a solemn vigil in remembrance of their devoted supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, affectionately known as ‘Nana Pooley.’
Nana Pooley tragically lost his life after being stabbed by unidentified assailants during Kotoko’s Matchday 19 encounter against Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Kronmansah Park in Nsoatre last Sunday.
His untimely death has led to the arrest of six individuals, including Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the owner of Nsoatreman FC.
The vigil, held on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, brought together key figures of the club, including members of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) — Nana Apinkra Akwesi Awuah, Kwesi Appiah, and head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The entire playing squad, along with a large gathering of supporters, participated in the event. Many grieving fans were visibly emotional, chanting “Justice for Pooley” as they mourned their beloved comrade.
