The portion of the Apeatse road in the Prestea-Huni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region which was destroyed by the recent explosion has been opened to traffic.
It could be recalled that on Thursday, January 20, 2022, a truck carrying mining explosives collided with a motorcycle resulting in an explosion which damage portion of the road, properties, claimed some lives and injured several others.
The road was shutdown but was opened to traffic on Thursday morning after a short ceremony by the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko, the deputy Roads and Highways Minister and Traditional Leaders at Apeatse.
Speaking to Oyerepa FM, the Public Relations Officer of the Apeatse Disaster Relief Committee, Mr. Thywill Quarshie indicated that works at the Apeatse community are ongoing.
Mr. Quarshie however assured that the government’s housing project would be completed soon and will be released to the homeless residents.
