The Adansi Akrofrom District Education Directorate in the Ashanti Region has ordered a temporal closure of Okyerekrom D/A Basic School.
The decision follows an attack on a teacher by a parent of one of the students of the school.
A teacher, Erusmus Eshun Mensah who spoke to Oyerepa midday news narrated that, parents of the student stormed the school on Thursday morning and mercilessly flogged his colleague teacher, Michael Aquah for punishing their ward.
According to him, two students of the school were given 3 lashes each as punishment by teachers, namely Michael Aquah and Sir Boat over a brawl on Wednesday, February 2022.
One of the victims as a result reported the case to his parents, who did not take it lightly, therefore, stormed the school and beat up Teacher Michael Aquah.
He said none of the teachers sustained injuries but the case has been reported to police for investigation.
Authorities of Adansi Akrofrom District Education Directorate upon hearing the incident subsequently have ordered the closure of Okyerekrom D/A Basic School until further notice.
