A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Richard Amoako Baah, has fumed over president Akufo-Addo’s refusal to reshuffle his non-performing ministers.
Ghanaians are calling on the president to reshuffle his ministers in order to find solutions to the current economic hardship in the country.
Speaking on North Star Radio in Tamale as part of his two-day tour of the Northern Region, the President said many of his appointees have met his expectation.
“Many of them for me have done outstanding work. Their output has been considerable, and that is what I look at. If the output measures expectations, then I don’t have any strong reasons to heed the call,” President Akufo-Addo said.
But commenting on the president’s responses on Oyerepa Breakfaast Time, Dr. Amoako Baah disagreed with the president; claimed the reasons do not make sense.
“This reasons do not make sense. The moment you go to the IMF, it means you’ve surrendered; it means, ‘I can’t do this thing. It means, ‘I need help; It means, ‘it’s out of my hands – that’s what it means.”
“So if they have helped you to get into a ditch, you can’t say they are outstanding at the same time when you are at IMF, is not reasonable,” he added.
