The Ashanti Regional Communications Director for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abass Nurudeen has chastised the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Adutwum over numerous hitches in Ghana’s educational sector.
According to him, Dr Adutwum is a disaster and the worst ever Education Minister in the history of Ghana.
“I think one of the biggest disasters of the Akufo-Addo’s government has been Adutwum. I think Napo was well but this minister is the worst.” Abass Nurudeen emphatically stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Monday.
He further indicated that, , the educational sector is at its lowest hub in the country because none of its sectors is improving due to incompetent Adutwum who is unable to steer the affairs of the ministry after being rated high when he deputized Dr Opoku Prempeh (Napo).
“Today, the educational sector is at its lowest hub in the country. No one sector of our education is improving.”
Abass Nurudeen comments are in relation to the various educational setbacks of the country under the New Patriotic Party, NPP. As of now, University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) is on strike over condition of service. Also, Basic school curriculum was changed two years ago however; textbooks are unavailable for teachers to teach students on the new reforms. These among others the NDC communication director believes Adutwum is incompetent and does not worth the position at hand.
