Clement Kyeremateng, a financial analyst, agrees with Gabby Otchere’s demand for evidence of allegations against Ken Ofori Atta, as he is representing him.
The lawyer for Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is demanding particulars and evidence to back the Minority’s allegations of incompetence against the minister, for which reason they are demanding his exit from office through a vote of censure.
Mr. Gabby Otchere-Darko, lawyer for Mr. Ofori-Atta, made the demand on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the first sitting of the eight-member bipartisan committee to investigate conflict of interest allegations levelled against Mr. Ofori-Atta by the minority caucus.
In response to Gabby’s demand on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Mr Clement stated that it is only fair that the minority provide evidence to support their claim that the finance minister misreported economic data to the parliament for debate and, if necessary, defense by Gabby.
He added that the finance minister may be good as an investor but may not function well as a financial manager and therefore is incompetent. “He will be better off in another position,” he said.
Mr. Kyeremateng, in addition to his submission, he said the finance minister, since his appointment into office, has implemented no strategies to grow the economy and cushion it against any unexpected events.
