A tragic accident involving two motorcycles occurred on the Assin Adadientam-Andoe road in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
The incident took place on Monday, January 29, 2024, at approximately 7 PM. Sadly, a 37-year-old teacher from Assin Abodweseso D/A Primary School lost his life in the accident.
Two other individuals, a pillion rider, and an Okada rider, sustained various injuries and are currently receiving treatment at St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.
The Assin South District Police Command, led by ASP Robert Kyeremeh, promptly rushed them to the medical facility for immediate attention.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the medical doctor pronounced the teacher dead.
The pillion rider and the Okada rider, who suffered multiple injuries to their head, jaw, and legs, were admitted for further medical care.
According to Mr. Simon, an eye whiteness, the deceased teacher, Isaac Arthur, was traveling with a pillion rider from Assin Andoe towards Assin Adadientam. Simultaneously, the Okada rider was approaching from the opposite direction when the tragic head-on collision occurred, throwing them from their bikes.
The collision had a severe impact, causing the teacher to pass away instantly and inflicting serious injuries on the pillion rider and the Okada rider.
The body of the deceased has been preserved at the St. Francis Hospital Morgue. The case is currently under investigation by the Assin South District Police Command.
Meanwhile, the Assemblymember has urged all riders to maintain discipline on the road to reduce accidents. Mr. Richard Oboh, a family member of the deceased, expressed concern about the future well-being of the deceased’s wife and four children, as he was the sole breadwinner of the household.
