Oyerepa TV’s “Help Me Change” Restores Hope for Autism Survivor Through Poultry Farming Project

Emmanuel, an autistic child, has been given new hope in life after Oyerepa TV’s “Help Me Change” crew initiated a poultry farm project for him.

At just seven years old, Emmanuel’s life changed forever after he reportedly developed autism following an illness that significantly altered his condition. Since then, his mother has carried the difficult responsibility of caring for him alone.

Now 21 years old, Emmanuel lives with his mother at Adubinso in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region. His mother, a petty trader, has struggled over the years to provide for him due to growing financial difficulties.

Despite his condition and the many challenges he has faced, Emmanuel has developed a strong interest in poultry farming — a passion that inspired Oyerepa TV’s humanitarian program, “Help Me Change,” to support his dream of becoming economically independent.

Following a visit to Emmanuel and his family, the “Help Me Change” team began constructing a poultry farm project aimed at providing him with a sustainable source of livelihood. Concrete works on the structure have already been completed, marking a significant step toward turning his dream into reality.

The program is now appealing to the general public, philanthropists, organizations, and benevolent individuals to support the completion of the poultry farm project. According to the team, materials urgently needed include roofing sheets, wood, wire mesh, and poultry feed.

Producers of the program believe that this support will not only help complete the project but also empower Emmanuel to build confidence, develop practical skills, and become self-reliant.

“Help Me Change” is a social intervention program aired on Oyerepa TV every Sunday at 7 p.m. The initiative focuses on supporting the sick, poor, and vulnerable in Ghanaian society through donations, rehabilitation projects, and community support efforts.
