A German national, Emine Genc, has been enstooled as the Development Queen Mother (Nkosuohemaa) of Ahenema Kokoben in the Ashanti Region, with the stool name Nana Nyarko Abronoma.
Her installation ceremony, marked by rich traditional rites and cultural displays, symbolised a bridge of friendship between Ghana and Turkey and underscored the community’s commitment to inclusive development.
In her acceptance remarks, Nana Nyarko Abronoma expressed deep appreciation for the honour bestowed upon her and pledged to work closely with the traditional authorities to improve living conditions in the community.

“I thank everyone for supporting me. I will do everything to help the community, especially women and children. I will always consult the Chief and the elders about what they need. I love the Ghanaian culture, and I am happy to be part of it,” she said.
The Chief of Ahenema Kokoben, Nana Yaw Gyamfi Berko II, explained that the decision to enstool Emine Genc followed her demonstrated commitment to supporting local development through a connection with a native of the community.
“It is through our son that we got to her. We lack development in this community, and through our son, we decided to give her the position of Developmental Queen Mother so she can assist with the needed progress,” the chief stated.
He, however, appealed to the new queen mother to remain dedicated to her mandate.
“I plead with her not to return to her home country and forget us. If that happens, I will hold our son who brought her responsible. I pray that the Lord will be with her,” Nana Gyamfi Berko added.
The Queen Mother of Ahenema Kokoben, Nana Gyeimaa Akenten, also commended Emine Genc for accepting the honour and encouraged her to help bridge the community’s development gaps.

“We thank God for having her as our Developmental Queen Mother. The community is far behind in terms of development. With her now, we believe she can help us with facilities like a school, hospital, and community centre. We pray she remains true to her mission,” she said.
The ceremony attracted residents, traditional leaders, and guests who celebrated the symbolic partnership between cultures, as Ahenema Kokoben looks forward to renewed hope in its developmental journey.
