As Parliament is on recess due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, most Parliamentarians have taken turns to address their constituents, on various media platforms, on the state of developmental projects being put up and matters arising.

Such opportunities has also being a medium to let know future prospects and how they would be achieved.

According to the Honourable Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Mr. Collins Randy Owusu Amankwaah, in an interview with Oyerepa FM’s Nana Jantuah, a scheme he, together with his constituents, put in place has really helped in uniting the various communities under me. He commended the support his constituents have given him all these while, and also recollected his service to the New Patriotic Party, his vision to ensure a developed and sound constituency, Manhyia North.

He again talked about the challenges he was faced with at the initial stages of assuming power saying, “For the past eights years, we were at a deficit in terms of roads due to the criticisms and legal suits against me.” He stated that being articulate on the concerns of constituents/ people is a measure of the abilities of a Member of Parliament.

He doubted if a Member of Parliament may be less concerned on the issues affecting his constituency.

He again talked about major developmental projects about to be rolled out in his constituency, from roads to be asphalt-overlayed, through gutters/ drains being put up, and others completed, to other developmental projects underway. “I’m also considering the economic development of my constituents… I have called for some stimulus packages for my constituents as well, ” the Honourable MP for Manhyia North indicated.

He was emphatic that with the issue of LIMEX area, he told Oyerepa FM, “My people have not been treated fairly. I personally feel bad anytime I enter the community… productive areas should be very keen to the country.”

“I had information that someone has created a pseudo account with my name on Facebook. Should you see any account without ‘Randy’ – Collins Randy Owusu Amankwaa is fake,” the Member of Ecowas Parliament disclosed.

He indicated that his eyes are wide open on securing jobs for the youth in his constituency in the public sector in almost every community. “I realised my constituency do have the potential in football, from colts at the black park… it is the challenge now I’m working on, to grass the parks, after beautifying the constituency,” Mr. Owusu Amankwaah gave hope.

On the construction of the Krofrom market, he indicated that he is still after prospective hands to come on board to help put up the market, with the support of the Krofrom Assembly and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (K. M. A.).

He touched on the security situation of his constituency as a major challenge, especially with the youth and proposed creation of recreational centres, a viable environment for them to be productive.

“My constituents can attest to the measures being rolled out to help address and create awareness on the social protocols to tackle COVID-19 thoroughly. Veronica buckets, sanitizers and other items have been shared in that regard,” he disclosed.
