Nana Ato Dadzie, former chief of staff under President John Rawlings, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership to learn from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) significant loss in the recent 2024 elections.
Speaking in an interview, Nana Ato Dadzie emphasized the importance of humility and accountability among government officials.
He expressed concern over the attitude of some ministers towards their constituents, citing instances where ministers ignore the people who voted for them.
He stressed that leaders must remain connected with the people and address their basic needs, such as food, agriculture, and electricity.
“The day you lose touch with your people, you lose your vote,” he warned. He also emphasized the need for greater humility among those in power, noting that they were voted into office by the people, not by right or privilege.
Nana Ato Dadzie’s words, as a former chief of staff under President John Rawlings’ administration, serve as a reminder to the party’s leadership to prioritize the needs of their constituents and maintain a connection with the people who elected them.
