Actress Lydia Forson expressed her satisfaction with the recent road repairs in her area, completed three months before the upcoming elections.
However, she remains sceptical of the government’s motives behind the sudden improvements.
Forson believes that the government’s decision to fix the roads is merely a ploy to secure votes from the public.
As a vocal critic of the government’s shortcomings, she points out that the project had been neglected for years before the sudden attention.
Her doubts stem from the fear that the government may abandon the road repairs once the elections are over.
Forson’s scepticism highlights the need for transparency and accountability in government projects, which ensure that the people’s needs are prioritized over political gain.
Making this position known in a tweet shared via X, she said “I’m very happy that my road has been done, I’m enjoying it paaaa. But if for years a project has been abandoned and 3 months to an election there’s more progress than in years- I’m going to ask to know WHY? How do I trust that it won’t be abandoned again after the elections?”
