Ghanaian singer Fameye has publicly apologized to Ghanaian DJs following a tense encounter with DJ Chos at the Xmas Highlife Concert in London.

The dramatic episode, which saw Fameye abruptly leave the stage, left fans and industry insiders buzzing with questions about what went wrong.

The event, held at the Dominion Center in London, was designed to showcase the richness of Ghanaian highlife music.

However, things took an unexpected turn during Fameye’s performance.

The artist, visibly upset, walked off stage, citing the DJ’s poor handling of his set as the cause.

Despite rehearsing multiple times with DJ Chos before the show, the live performance was marred by technical mishaps, including the playing of unrelated tracks such as songs by rapper Amerado.

The disruption not only threw off Fameye’s rhythm but also dampened the audience’s experience. Speaking to reporters after the incident, he did not mince words.

“It was a deeply disheartening moment,” Fameye shared had shared in a previous statement.

“I prepared tirelessly to give my fans the best show, but when the DJ repeatedly fumbled, it felt like my craft and the audience’s time were being disrespected.

“I couldn’t continue under those circumstances.”

In the aftermath, DJ Chos and his team released a statement addressing the matter, adding to the public discourse.

Fameye, in turn, decided to use the opportunity to clarify his stance and extend an olive branch.

In a fresh interview on Hitz FM, he expressed regret over how events unfolded and apologized to DJs across Ghana who might have felt slighted by his actions.

“To all Ghanaian DJs, I want to sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings that arose from my behaviour,” he stated.

“I have nothing but immense respect for the work DJs do. They are integral to what we as artists achieve, especially during live performances.”
