Collins Owusu Amankwah, the former Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has indicated his intention to cancel polling station elections in the area.
He believes that these elections within the party have consistently led to fraudulent activities and conflicts, which is why he has decided to eliminate them.
“I want to put it on record that, if I am re-elected as MP, I will abolish polling station elections in Manhyia North. Those who oppose this decision should be prepared to take legal action against me. Because in Manhyia South, they only vote on constituency executives. However, during my term, certain individuals intentionally organized polling station elections, which led to chaotic conflicts.” Collins stated during an interview with Kwasi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
Collins Owusu Amankwah narrowly lost his seat to the incumbent, Akwasi Konadu, during the NPP parliamentary primaries in 2020. However, he is determined to reclaim the seat In the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries on January 27, 2024.
