Renowned Ghanaian actor, Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr Beautiful, has recently disclosed a significant revelation.
According to him, if he had not made the courageous choice to align himself with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), it would have been exceedingly challenging for numerous actors, actresses, and musicians to venture into other political affiliations.
During an appearance on the Oyerepa Cinifie Showbiz last Saturday, Mr Beautiful emphasized that his audacious decision to publicly endorse the NDC in 2016 paved the way for his peers in the movie and music industry.
He further explained that although many individuals may have harboured the desire to join political parties, they were hesitant to do so. However, when he fearlessly declared his support for the NDC, his colleagues were inspired to follow suit.
“What I did in 2016 paved the way for other actors and actresses to also join political parties. This is because a lot of them were afraid to come out. So when I came out in 2016, a lot of actors, a lot of musicians, came out openly and supported another political party.” Mr Beautiful told Martha Joyce, host of the show.
The popular actor revealed that he is a card-bearing member of the NDC and has not regretted joining the party.
He joined the NDC because the party shares what it has with everyone as well as embarking on infrastructural development and this basically makes him love it.
“I’ve not regretted joining NDC and I’m not regretting. You know why, NDC they give. When NDC is in government they do a lot of infrastructural development. That’s why I’m comfortable being with NDC.”
