New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer hopeful, John Alan Kyerematen, has disclosed that he did not want to dip his hands in government coffers to sponsor his campaign, which is why he resigned from the Akufo-Addo government.
Alan Kyerematen and nine others are contesting for the political party’s flagbearership position.
He believes that this is his time to lead the governing NPP to make history by breaking the eight-year cycle.
Speaking at an event to launch an app for his fundraising, he indicated that he will need a lot of cash to sponsor his bid. However, as patriotic as he is, he left the government so he does not use state resources to fund his campaign.
“I will be lying if I say I don’t need money to fund my campaign. Campaigns are run with cash. However, I left the government so that I don’t use state resources to fund my campaign. So I left my job to look for money to support my politics” he said.
